Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the benefits of football scholarships and volunteering for the community. In the first place, he was born by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on a farm near Eufala in Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. The Selmons were also among the three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. In 1975, he received his third scholarship, and was recognized as an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy's fourth time of service consisted of ten hours a week in volunteer work during college. He moved to Tampa after graduation, and playing for the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. The first position he held was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as among the top 10 youths in the US. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. When he was playing college, he commanded the team of 1975. He was promoted to the associate director of Athletics at University of South Florida. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame was named for the player on the 28th of October, 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
