Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the sole celebrity who transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream, and to become a global pop culture icon. Swift removed herself from country music like a second-skin and proved that she had the best pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only artist/singer who could follow the zeitgeist of popular music out on the road. Swift's early songs, including the neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off the talents of her. But her 2008 album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was re-discovering herself and gaining a huge following. Fearless was a huge success worldwide but not only in the United States (where it was certified as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia as well as the U.K. and many other countries. Swift reached the heights of the charts when she released Speak Now. With the three albums that followed (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012, 1989 2014 and Reputation 2017, her popularity only increased. It was a clear indicator that Swift had entered a new pop world that she could be part of. In the end, when she refocused her music to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore and Evermore but she was still in the top spot. This position was maintained with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalog as in Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
