Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 located in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with 12 other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the savage realities of daily life. Even before learning to write and read and compose, she wrote the music she composed herself. At the age of 8, she got the first electric guitar she owned and began singing for an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That same year when she began recording her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. As a student in high school, she garnered a name in the local music scene but dreamed about a larger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she swiftly relocated to Nashville. Her first charting recordings from Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967.
